Hi, I’m Dr. G — an instructional designer, learning strategist, and lifelong education enthusiast. I help people learn smarter by creating experiences that are clear, meaningful, and genuinely enjoyable.
What I Do
I design learning.
That means shaping ideas, content, and technology into training that actually works. Whether it’s a full eLearning course, a micro-module, or a simple job aid, my goal is always the same: make learning easier, more intuitive, and impossible to forget.
I work across instructional design, UX for learning, content strategy, and course development. If it helps people understand something faster or more clearly, I’m probably obsessed with it.
How I Work
My approach blends:
- Learning theory (like constructivism and cognitive load principles)
- User experience design
- Practical analysis of what learners actually need
- A healthy amount of creativity
I’m known for being able to look at a course and instantly spot what will help a learner engage — and what might hold them back.
A Few Fun Facts
- Favorite Tools: Articulate Rise & Storyline — clean, flexible, and perfect for building learning that feels modern.
- Unique Skill: I can evaluate the effectiveness of a course in under 30 seconds.
- Favorite Learning Theory: Constructivism — because people learn best when they’re building their own understanding, not just consuming information.
- Most Quoted Reminder: “The forgetting curve is real.”
- Coffee or Tea? Both. Coffee for momentum, tea for balance, and deadlines for… more coffee and tea.
My Philosophy
Every learner has a spark. Instructional design is how we turn that spark into confidence, clarity, and capability.
Whether I’m creating a bite-sized explainer or a full curriculum, I focus on building experiences that:
- Respect the learner’s time
- Reduce overwhelm
- Encourage exploration
- Make learning feel human
Because when learning feels good, everything else falls into place.
